RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya unveils Riyadh’s first ever Chinese Food Festival, offering its guests a feast of culinary delights from all over China. The festival, which was inaugurated by Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Lin Yang Hong yesterday, will run from 4th to 16th December 2010 and will offer diners a chance to sample and savour cuisine from across East Asia. 

Chinese Chef Chia Chen Long, from Hilton Kuala Lumpur will oversee a series of culinary activities from expansive buffets, specialty tea tastings and cooking classes that will showcase over 60 authentic Chinese dishes. 

“The Middle East has a strong Chinese food culture and we thought it was time to introduce the concept in Riyadh. For the first time, our guests will have the chance to learn more about the history, regional significance and methods of preparation of authentic Chinese food while enjoying the sumptuous fare,” said Haakon Gaarder-Larsen, general manager, Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya. 
Chef Chia Chen Long will highlight a variety of Chinese cuisines, taking samples from the great traditions of Cantonese, Szechuan, Shandong and Jiangsu cooking. International favourites like dim sum will be available along with lesser-known regional dishes. ln addition, the festival will explore China’s strong “Yum Cha” culture, with tea and juice tastings, every night. 

Following the successful “Greek Odyssey”, a celebration of Hellenic cuisine, the Chinese Food Festival is the second culinary event hosted by Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya. The hotel, which is one of the Kingdom’s premiere business hotels, aims to raise the profile of Saudi Arabia’s F&B industry by exposing the region to a variety of global cuisines.
